Wolverhampton Youth Zone

Client case study

Air Con Installation

Wolverhampton Youth Zone – aka The Way – is a purpose-built facility for the city’s young people, offering a range of activities including sports, dance, arts, music, media and enterprise.

Given predicted high levels of usage, comfort at this high-profile environment was paramount In TRAC’s approach. While that has always been TRAC’s philosophy, this project carried with it an additional social component. The Way had been designed to create a happier and healthier generation, and TRAC knew that few would be happy to spend their weekends and holidays in a muggy, oppressive environment.

With that in mind, TRAC installed a modern, site-wide air conditioning and ventilation system, enjoying another positive working relationship with the client. Dealing efficiently with a project of such size and complexity typified TRAC’s experience and expertise.

The work was not, however, without its challenges. A purpose-built facility meant that multiple tradespeople were required at the site. For example, TRAC’s pipework had to be fitted in limited space while electricians fulfilled their own obligations. TRAC coordinated the work to boost the project’s efficiency, ensuring it was brought in not only on time but within budget.

The result is an environment that will stay cool while kids work up a sweat. Whether the build itself or end-users’ experience, comfort was the watchword throughout.
